Our Journey Across the Country

Lake Minden RV Resort | 12/13/21 - 12/17/21

After Napa, we parked it at Lake Minden RV Resort in Nicolas, CA. It is another Thousand Trails park with a large man-made lake which is stocked with fish and has a small beach. It is nothing glorious (we’ve passed it a million times on Hwy 99) but was a good stop for us while we remained in the Yuba City/Sacramento area through December. Mary was able to go into the RGA office one last time, and we made trips in to YC to unload a few things at the storage units and Andy’s house (unloaded some of those extra propane tanks and water bottles!) and pick up mail in Sutter. We enjoyed a spontaneous dinner out with Andy, Sam and Ivana. It was cold and very windy that week, and we did not do much else. With the leveling system non-operational, we were camped without jacks. We had chosen a site on the south edge of the park which gave us long views across the wide open field behind us, but sitting on the tires & suspension with nothing for a wind block, the 35+ mph winds really rocked us! Mary was frequently reminded of time on the sailboat in the SF bay. The RV really is our land yacht!
