Our Journey Across the Country Pacific Dunes RV Resort, Oceano CA | 1/2/22 - 1/6/22Happy New Year! Our journey officially started with the start of the new year. The glorious Central Coast of California was a beautiful way to start! Our site had a full view of the dunes from our front window, and we felt fortunate to be on the upper level of the park rather than down below. We took the short drive into Pismo Beach for the pier, some seafood, and iconic California beach town. We strolled through the Monarch Butterfly Grove but saw only a few butterflies. From our campsite it was about a mile hike across the dunes to the beach and the soul-rejuvenating sea air. We found the Pismo area to be unexpectedly approachable (both the vibe and the cost of living, considering it is SoCal), and the weather was perfect. Pacific Dunes RV Resort is an Encore park in the Thousand Trails system which means we did have to pay a little extra to stay here, but it was well worth it, and we might come back in the future!
